Dr. Lawrence and Coach QueenKelli Droughn
Owners, Operators, State Administrators, and Direct Support Professionals

We are an ordinary couple with an extraordinary love for people, animals, and the transformative power of both—especially horses. By combining our coaching experience with our passion for ranch living, we created a space where purpose, healing, and growth come together in a meaningful, real-life environment.

For over 15 years, we have owned and operated an Adult Residential Facility, serving individuals with developmental disabilities with hands-on care, leadership, and deep commitment. Hope at the Ranch was born as a natural extension of that work—created to fill a gap we saw not only in the system, but within our own home and family.

Through our residents, our autistic grandchild, nephew, and other loved ones, we witnessed firsthand the powerful and often immediate impact animals can have. What began with something as simple as introducing a house dog into our facility grew into something much greater. We saw individuals become more engaged, more confident, and more connected.

One of the most defining moments came when our granddaughter participated in horseback experiences. As she built confidence on the back of a horse, we watched that same courage begin to show up in other areas of her life. That transformation confirmed what we had already begun to see—there was something deeply impactful about the connection between people, animals, and environment.

At Hope at the Ranch, our mission is to provide person-centered, community-based experiences that support individuals in building confidence, independence, and life skills. We serve individuals, families, youth, couples, and adults with developmental disabilities or autism, as well as foster care and ministry groups.

Through hands-on interaction with animals, nature, and structured daily activities, participants develop practical skills such as communication, responsibility, emotional regulation, and vocational readiness. Our ranch is not just a place to visit—it is a place to learn, grow, and actively engage in life.

We are committed to creating opportunities that extend beyond the ranch by incorporating community integration, real-world experiences, and social engagement, ensuring every individual has the opportunity to participate fully in their community with dignity, choice, and purpose.

Our programs are designed to align with Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) principles, promoting autonomy, meaningful outcomes, and a life filled with connection, contribution, and possibility.

For us, this work is deeply personal. What we offer is not just a service—it is the result of years of lived experience, care, and a desire to create what we knew was missing.

We proudly partner with families, support coordinators, and regional centers to provide meaningful, compliant, and impactful services tailored to each individual’s goals.

We invite you to experience breakthrough moments in the most unexpected, yet beautiful ways.

“Serving with experience, leading with heart, and creating spaces where lives are transformed.”
